UCA Campus Description
The Universal College-Aley (UCA), founded in 1907 by Elias Shibil-El Khouri, is a well-known educational institution in Aley, 16 km from Beirut. Located in the mountains, the campus offers stunning views of Beirut and the Mediterranean Sea. UCA has been shaping Lebanon’s educational landscape for over a century, helping students achieve success worldwide.
The campus is designed to support learning, growth, and community. Key buildings include:
Administration Building
Built in 1920 and recently renovated, the Administration Building houses administrative offices, a library, and support services. It is the operational heart of the campus, connecting UCA’s past and present.

Walid and Nada Abushakra Building (New Building)
Completed in 2014, the New Building features:
– A STEM lab and technology lab for coding and robotics
– A 270-seat auditorium with backstage areas, dressing rooms, and a rooftop
– 23 classrooms across three floors
– Offices, a science lab, a mini-conference room, and a counselor’s office
– A basement with teacher workrooms and storage
– An elevator for easy access to all floors
The New Building also serves as a SAT testing center and is connected to the Kamil Shibil Khuri Building (White Building) by a covered tunnel.


Kamil Shibil Khuri Building (White Building)
Built in 1969, the White Building houses 18 classrooms, a media center, music and art rooms, and several offices. It provides a focused learning environment, complementing the modern facilities on campus.

Maroun Abboud Building & Akram Shehayeb Building (Preschool)
This building serves UCA’s preschool section, with specialized rooms for arts and music. It includes four floors, two playgrounds, and a mechanical room. The layout features:
– Classrooms, play areas, kitchens, and bathrooms
– Technology labs, a bookstore, and offices
– Several common areas for activities
Cafeteria
The cafeteria, located at the center of campus, is recently updated and provides hot meals to students and staff. Its central location makes it a social hub, easily accessible from all buildings.


Campus Grounds
UCA’s campus has large open spaces with greenery, creating a peaceful atmosphere for students. Covered walkways provide protection from rain, ensuring comfort throughout the year. Outdoor graduation ceremonies are held in these areas, accommodating over 200 guests.
Security and Accessibility
UCA is a closed campus with security personnel. Ample parking spaces are available for parents, and the layout of the campus ensures easy access and safety for all.
Post-Renovation Growth
Since its renovations in 2001, UCA has expanded in both enrollment and facilities. The campus combines historic buildings with modern amenities, offering a high-quality educational environment that prepares students for global success.
